How can merchants facilitate citizens and ensure smooth operation?
Currently, merchants have set up the LeaveHomeSafe QR code at the entrance of the store for citizens to use when entering. However, how will citizens and merchants use the vaccine pass that will be implemented soon? Ola Tech editor will share with you the key points and usage methods!
Merchant – Verify QR code Scanner app
Merchant can start using the vaccine pass by simply downloading or updating the [Verification QR Code Scanner] developed by the government to the latest version.
Whether the merchant/premises places it in front of the store for citizens to tap or arranges staff to scan the citizens’ vaccination card QR code or the [COVID-19 Vaccination Medical Exemption Certificate] QR code.
Place the mobile phone with the app in a conspicuous place. The mobile phone must have a front-facing camera, so that citizens can open their own LeaveHomeSafe QR code and point it at the mobile phone with a front-facing camera at the merchant/premises [and beep]. If the front camera of the mobile phone used is not sensitive enough, the merchant/premises can use the rear camera to scan the QR code. You just need to set up the relevant settings and you can use it smoothly!
Before using your mobile phone, merchants/premises must first activate the newly added automatic scanning function in the APP, and use the
[Leave Home Safe] venue code to facilitate citizens to use it easily. **Do not set the automatic lock function on your mobile phone to avoid affecting the smoothness of use and keep the mobile phone fully charged**
Scan Results
Scanning the electronic vaccination card/medical exemption certificate/viral disease test QR code will display 3 results respectively:
- There are 3 possible results after scanning the QR code of the COVID-19 e-vaccination card (First dose of vaccine received, complete vaccination, including the following 14 days, and QR code data errors );
- There are 3 possible results after scanning the QR code of the COVID-19 Vaccination Medical Exemption Certificate (valid, expired, and incorrect QR code information;
- There are 3 possible results after scanning the COVID-19 test QR code: (Test results within three days, test results older than three days, and incorrect QR code information).
After the citizen completes the action, the merchant or premises staff will be notified Dongdong. The person will listen to a sound indicating that they have been vaccinated. The person holding the [Exemption Certificate] will hear Boom. The sound is used to identify whether the person has been vaccinated or holds an exemption certificate. If the QR code is invalid, you will hear Dangdangdangdang. The delegate’s pass has not been validated, and he is not allowed to enter the premises.
Citizens only need to open the vaccination record (that is, the vaccination card QR code) in the [Leave Home Safe] app. Then, point the phone’s screen with the front-facing camera and the [Verification QR Code Scanner] app at the merchant’s premises… It will [beep], and they can enter the venue when it is confirmed to be safe. *
* Citizens do not need to worry, the data in the program will be encrypted, and merchants/premises cannot retrieve citizens’ personal information!

How can merchants/premises select mobile phones that meet the specifications and are cost-effective?
First, download the [ Verification QR Code Scanner] mobile application (version 4.1.0 for Android mobile devices and version 4.1.0 for iOS mobile devices) to read the [ COVID-19 Vaccination Exemption Certificate] QR code.
The Innovation and Technology Bureau requires that the scanner of mobile phone lenses can run on Android 6.0 or above, support Android phones or tablets with Google Store or Huawei App Market, and Apple phones or tablets with iOS12 or above.
The camera requirement for Apple iOS system is 7 million pixels or above, while that for Android system is 8 million pixels or above with auto focus function.
As not every mobile phone’s front camera has an autofocus function, please note that if you want to use the front camera for automatic scanning, the lens must be 13 million pixels or above to obtain better results (as different usage scenarios have different requirements for the front camera, it is recommended to perform a performance test before purchasing).
